KUALA LUMPUR: Kesesakan di jalan utama terutama di Jalan Lengkaran Tengan (MRR2) 1 dan 2 dijangka dapat diatasi tidak lama lagi apabila kerajaan bersetuju membina sambungan Lebuh Raya Sungai Besi (Basraya) sehingga ke Ampang.

Sambungan lebuh raya sepanjang 12.3 kilomiter yang dianggarkan bernilai RM649 juta akan memulakan pembinanya tahun ini dan dijangka siap sepenuhnya dalam tempoh tiga tahun.

 KUALA LUMPUR- Selepas sedekad dibuka, pengguna Lebuh Raya Sungai Besi boleh lega apabila kutipan tol Plaza Tol Salak Jaya ditamatkan pada 12.01 tengah hari semalam.

 Penutupan plaza tol tersebut adalah yang kedua selepas 12 hari pemansuhan kutipan tol di Plaza Tol PJS 2, arah Kuala Lumpur, Lebuh Raya Baru Pantai (NPE) pada 13 Februari lalu.

Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (Litrak) said the inspection of the Motorola Cable-stayed bridge at Km16.5, Lebuh Raya Damansara Puchong will be conducted over the 10-day period from 12.01am to 6am daily. No work would be carried out on Fridays, Saturdays, eve of public holidays. 

During this period, traffic diversion would be implemented in stages so as to facilitate inspection works.

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 24, 2009) : The collection at the Salak Jaya toll plaza has been abolished with immediate effect. 

Residents have been paying RM1.30 every time they drove towards Kuala Lumpur since May 1999. It is estimated about 50,000 motorists use the highway.

 Beliau berkata, pemansuhan tol itu sepatutnya bekuatkuasa 1 Mac depan, bagaimanapun Besraya (M) Sdn Bhd bersetuju memansuhkan kutipan tol enam hari lebih awal.

KUALA LUMPUR 25 Feb. - Penduduk sekitar Plaza Tol Salak Jaya Lebuh raya Sungai Besi (Besraya) dan pengguna lebuh raya itu gembira dengan keputusan kerajaan memansuhkan kutipan di plaza tol itu bermula semalam.

Seorang pemborong bekalan runcit, Kamal Pascha, 35, yang ditemui berkata, penutupan tol itu telah lama ditunggu-tunggu oleh seluruh penduduk sekitar kerana ia membebankan mereka.

"Kutipan RM1.30 untuk melalui lebuh raya ini tidak berpatutan kerana destinasi yang hendak ditujui sangat dekat contohnya ke Kampung Malaysia atau The Mines.

The announcement was made by Works Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamad after he announced that the Salak Jaya toll plaza on the same highway would be closed, saving motorists RM1.30 in toll in each direction.

The extension of the highway, dubbed the Besraya Elevated Expressway (BEE), will, however, have one toll plaza.

PETALING JAYA: The Government is expected to make a decision on road toll rates soon, possibly before the end of this week, as it owes compensation to the concessionaires for at least two months and more will be owed without a decision.

Three groups own highways with toll rates that are overdue for increases, according to their concession agreements.

These concession owners are PLUS Expressways Bhd, IJM Corp Bhd and Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Bhd (Litrak). While they own a number of tolled highways, several were due, or already overdue, for toll increases on Jan 1.

KUALA LUMPUR: Come Sunday, the toll charges at five major highways will be increased. 

Works Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed said this was necessary to honour the toll agreements with concession holders.

"We hope road-users will not see this as a burden as the increase is minimal," said Zin.

The highways are Sprint, Ampang Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (Akleh), Sungai Besi (Besraya), the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and several stretches run by PLUS Expressways Berhad.

Kerajaan juga memberi jaminan kadar baru tol itu tidak akan dilaksanakan dalam jangka masa terdekat.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak berkata, penangguhan itu dibuat sehingga ke satu tempoh yang belum ditentukan lagi, bergantung pada kemampuan kerajaan.
