PLUS offers extra CNY toll discounts

Class 1 Plus and Elite highway users will enjoy an additional 10 per cent discount when paying tolls between 12.01am and 7am on selected days during the Chinese New Year festive period. 

Plus Expressways Bhd managing director Noorizah Abd Hamid said the extra discount is applicable for travel on Jan 21, 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30, in conjunction with the celebrations. 

This 10 per cent discount is in addition to the 10 per cent discount already enjoyed by Class 1 Plus and Elite highway users during non-peak hours starting Jan 1, 2009.

KUALA LUMPUR: Plus Expressways Bhd (Plus) akan mengumumkan jadual perjalanan berperingkat di Lebuh Raya Utara-Selatan pada 20 Januari ini yang dibuat sempena cuti perayaan Tahun Baru Cina pada 26 Januari ini bagi melancarkan laluan trafik. 

Pengurus Besar Komunikasi Korporat Plus, Khalilah Mohd Talha, berkata seperti kebiasaan bagi tahun sebelum ini, syor berkenaan antara lain mencadangkan waktu perjalanan paling sesuai bagi pengguna yang mahu ke destinasi tertentu untuk kemudahan serta keselesaan pengguna. 

LLM digesa bina segera parit

KUALA LUMPUR 18 Jan. - Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) dan pengurusan Lebuhraya Kuala Lumpur-Karak diminta membina parit berhampiran loji rawatan air yang terletak berdekatan lebuh raya berkenaan bagi mengelak berulangnya pencemaran bekalan air akibat tumpahan minyak.

Pengerusi Eksekutif Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn. Bhd. (Syabas), Tan Sri Rozali Ismail berkata, tumpahan minyak sawit baru-baru ini yang berpunca daripada kemalangan jalan raya di lebuh raya itu merupakan kejadian kali ketiga berlaku dan ia boleh dielakkan.

PLUS gives CNY discount

KUALA LUMPUR: Class 1 motorists using the North-South Expressway and the North-South Expressway Central Link (Elite) highways will enjoy a 10% discount on toll fees in conjunction with Chinese New Year. 

Highway concessionaire PLUS managing director Noorizah Abd Hamid said in a statement yesterday that discount would be applicable from 12.01am to 7am on Jan 21, 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30.

It is in addition to the 10% discount already enjoyed by Class 1 vehicles traveling during off-peak hours on both expressways since Jan 1, she added.

Additional toll discount

KUALA LUMPUR- Class 1 vehicle users on PLUS and Elite expressway will be given an additional 10 per cent discount in conjuction with the Chinese New Year, said PLUS Expressway managing director Noorizah Abd Hamid.

User who paid toll between midnight and 7am already enjoy a 10 per cent discount but between Jan 21 and Jan 30, a further 10 per cent would be discounted, he said.

"With the 10 per cent discount PLUS user on the Jalan Duta-Ipoh Selatan route outside peak hours will only pay tokk of RM23.80 instead of RM26.50.

Diskaun tol hingga 20 peratus

KUALA LUMPUR - Selepas diberi diskaun 10 peratus mulai 1 Januari, pengguna lebuh raya PLUS dan ELITE bagi Kelas 1 (kereta) akan menerima tambahan diskaun 10 peratus lagi sempena sambutan Tahun Baru Cina minggu depan.

Diskaun tambahan yang menjadikan keseluruhan 20 peratus itu membabitkan penggunaan lebuh raya bagi tarikh 21, 22, 23, 26, 29 dan 30 Januari ini.

Tabung bantuan Palestin di plaza tol

KUALA LUMPUR 14 Jan. - Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) akan menyediakan Tabung Bantuan Palestin di setiap plaza tol di seluruh negara bagi memudahkan pengguna lebuh raya menghulurkan bantuan dalam bentuk baki bayaran tol, untuk disampaikan kepada rakyat Palestin yang sedang menjadi mangsa serangan ganas Israel di Gaza.

Pengerusi LLM Datuk Syed Jamal Syed Jaafar berkata semua 24 syarikat konsensi LLM bersetuju untuk menyediakan tabung berkenaan di plaza tol masing-masing secepat mungkin.

Award for MMC-Gamuda

KUALA LUMPUR: MMC-Gamuda Joint Venture was named Contractor of the Year at the Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards (MCIEA) 2008 organised by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) on Tuesday.

Gamuda executive director Ng Kee Leen received the award from Works Minister Datuk Mohamad Zin Mohd for the company's work on the SMART tunnel project.

Three individuals received awards in their respective fields:

RM5 for picture of a pothole

KUALA LUMPUR: It pays to keep a lookout for potholes on the road. Literally. 

Potholes have been known to cause injury and even death to motorists, so being aware of them saves a lot of problems, at the very least.

But if you are a staff member of the Works Ministry, it could mean much more.

Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Abdul Munit Kasmin yesterday offered a RM5 reward to any employee who snaps a picture of a pothole on federal roads.

Gaza fund boxes at toll plazas

PUTRAJAYA: All highway operators have agreed to set up collection boxes at their toll plazas for motorists who want to help the Palestinian victims in Gaza.

Malaysian Highway Authority chairman Datuk Syed Jamal Syed Jaafar said the boxes would be put at the more than 100 toll plazas with immediate effect.

"Money will not replace the lives lost or their suffering, but it will help them. So, if motorists feel they want to donate, they can do that.
