Plus to raise RM1bil

PETALING JAYA: Toll operator PLUS Expressways Bhd and its unit will raise about RM1bil this year by issuing Islamic papers to fund its expansion and re-finance loan.

The first trenched of its Sukuk papers for RM350mil was expected to be launched over the next three months and used mainly to re-finance its bridging loan, said Plus managing director Noorizan Abd Hamid.

?Liquidity is an issue but with lower interest rates, we are re-looking at the market. We will make sure we get the best rates.

Kementerian Kerja Raya kumpul RM800,000

KUALA LUMPUR 5 Feb. - Sebanyak RM800,000 berjaya dikutip Kementerian Kerja Raya untuk disalurkan kepada Tabung Kemanusiaan Rakyat Palestin hari ini.

Daripada jumlah itu, sebanyak RM500,000 disumbangkan oleh Projek Lebuhraya Utara Selatan Bhd. (PLUS); RM151,222 daripada para pengguna lebuh raya, Lebuhraya Besraya dan New Pantai Expressway (RM100,000), Jabatan Kerja Raya (RM21,687), Prolintas dan Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (RM14,050), Kementerian Kerja Raya (RM6,807) dan Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan Malaysia (RM6,234). 

Terowong Smart ditutup

KUALA LUMPUR- Terowong Smart di sini akan ditutup untuk semua kenderaan bermula pukul 11 malam ini sehingga 6 pagi hari  berikutnya untuk kerja-kerja penyenggaraan bulanan.

Tahun Baru Cina Diskaun 20% kadar tol

KUALA LUMPUR 21 Jan- Sempena Tahun Baru Cina, pengguna yang memandu kereta persendirian dari pukul 12 tengah malam hingga 7 pagi akan menikmati diskaun 20 peratus termasuk tambahan 10 peratus kadar tol di Lebuh Raya Utara-Selatan dan Lebuh Raya Elite bermula hari ini.<br><br>Diskaun tambahan 10 peratus kepada 20 peratus itu diberi kepada para pengguna kedua-dua lebuh raya itu pada enam hari terpilih iaitu hari ini, esok serta 22,23,26,29 dan 30 Januari ini.

1.3 million vehicles to be on the go

PETALING JAYA: Some 1.3 million vehicles are expected to be on the highways during the upcoming festive season.

Traffic is expected to increase by 10% to 30% starting tomorrow with people returning to their hometowns for the Chinese New Year holidays, while heavy traffic is also anticipated for the return journey from Jan 27 to Feb 1.

PLUS Expressways Berhad managing director Noorizah Abd Hamid advised the public to follow the Travel Time Advisory it issued and plan their journey beforehand.

Plus umum 10 peratus diskaun tambahan

PETALING JAYA - Diskaun tol tambahan 10 peratus akan dinikmati pengguna Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan (PLUS) menjelang cuti perayaan Tahun Baru Cina.

 Pengarah Urusan Plus Expressways Berhad (Plus), Noorizah Abd Hamid berkata, diskaun tol tambahan tersebut adalah susulan kepada diskaun 10 peratus yang diberikan sebelum ini kepada pengguna lebuh raya itu di bawah insentif yang ditawarkan Plus sejak 1 Januari lalu.

Builders to get RM1bil

KUCHING: The Works Ministry has estimated about RM1bil in compensation payments to contractors for the variation of prices (VOP) of projects arising from higher cost of building materials.

Deputy Works Minister Datuk Yong Khoon Seng said the ministry has identified 1,311 projects under the VOP.

Some RM44.2mil has been paid out for 270 projects.

"The amount for the other 1,041 projects are being determined," he said at the opening of the ministry's briefing session for VOP and industrialised building system (IBS) at the Kuching Hilton yesterday.

Sprint Highway diversion

THERE will be a temporary road diversion on the Sprint Highway, Damansara Link from KM1.5 to KM2.3 (both directions) between midnight and 6am daily until Friday.

The traffic diversion is to facilitate installation of beams for a flyover, slipover and related construction works being conducted by Dijaya Land Sdn Bhd for the Tropicana City mixed development project.

Highway users are advised to adhere to the alternative routes during this period.

Temporary signages have been erected to warn highway users of the closure.

Exhibiting quick-fit building system

THE second edition of the Malaysia IBS International Exhibition (MIIE 2009) aims to attract greater interest in the construction industry. 

IBS is a construction process which uses techniques, products, components or building systems involving prefabricated components on or of-site installation. 

The main draw of the three-day event, starting from tomorrow at the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, is an exhibition on IBS products and technologies participated by more than 100 exhibitors.

Admission is FREE.

Lebuh Raya Sprint ditutup Ahad ini

KUALA LUMPUR Sistem Penyuraian Trafik KL Barat Sdn. Bhd. (Sprint) akan menutup kedua-dua arah lebuh raya itu di Kilometer 1.5 sehingga Dijaya Land Sdn. Bhd.) mulai Ahad ini sehingga 23 Hanuari depan.

Pengurus Komunikasi Sprint, Bhavani Krishna Iyer memberitahu, penutupan dari pukul 12 malam hingga 6 pagi itu adalah bagi membolehkan Kerja-kerja pembinaan jejambat, jalan susur dan Kerja-kerja berkaitan dilaksanakan di kawasan itu.
