CHERAS: Kabinet semalam mengarahkan Grand Saga Sdn Bhd (Grand Saga), syarikat konsesi Lebuhraya Cheras-Kajang, membuka laluan menghubungkan lebuh raya itu ke Bandar Mahkota Cheras, di sini, berkuat kuasa serta-merta.Keputusan itu diumumkan Menteri Kerjaraya, Datuk Ir Mohd Zin Mohamed, ketika melawat lokasi terbabit pada kira-kira jam 3.30 petang dan disambut sorakan gembira beratus-ratus penduduk yang menanti berita gembira berkenaan.

SHAH ALAM 30 Mei - Kerajaan Selangor mengucapkan terima kasih kepada kerajaan Pusat yang membenarkan penduduk di kawasan Bandar Mahkota Cheras dan sekitarnya menggunakan jalan pintas ke Lebuh Raya Cheras-Kajang.

Pejabat Menteri Besar Selangor dalam kenyataan akhbar hari ini berkata, kerajaan Pusat dan Menteri Kerja Raya, Datuk Ir. Mohamad Zin Mohamed telah membuat keputusan yang betul dalam menangani isu tersebut.

Bincang cari jalan selesai masalah

KUALA LUMPUR: Perbincangan antara syarika pemegang konsesi lebuh raya Cheras-Kajang dan pemaju perumahan Taman Bukit Mahkota Cheras, Kanjang, perlu segera mencari penyelesaian terbaik.

Menteri Besar Selangor, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, berkata semua pihak perlu bersabar mencari jalan penyelesaian dan mengatasi masalah dihadapi lebih 20,000 penduduk di kawasa itu.

Bandar Mahkota Cheras dispute: Khalid brings down barricade

KUALA LUMPUR: An enforced "truce" is in place between Grand Saga Sdn Bhd and Bandar Mahkota Cheras residents over free access to the Cheras-Kajang Highway. 

One day after police urged Grand Saga not to put up barricade, Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim summoned the Kajang Municipal Council to completely remove the remnants of the barricade. 

Bandar Mahkota residents take their case to Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: Some 30 residents of Bandar Mahkota Cheras brought their case to Parliament, wielding banners urging the Works Minister to reopen the access road to the housing area.

They gathered outside the Parliament building with banners which read: "Menteri Kerja Raya, Tolong Rakyat Buka Jalan" (Works Minister, please help the people open the road).

A resident, who only wanted to be known as Mas, said the barricade, built by highway concessionaire Grand Saga Sdn Bhd, had created serious traffic congestion for the residents in the area.

End to Cheras saga today?

KUALA LUMPUR: A solution is in sight to the Bandar Mahkota Cheras access road issue.

Works Minister Datuk Mohd Zin Mohamed is expected to visit the site today and make an announcement, according to highway concessionaire Grand Saga Sdn Bhd.

In a statement yesterday, Grand Saga executive director (business development and corporate affairs) Zainal Abidin Ali said they met Mohd Zin yesterday to discuss the issue.

"After the meeting, we believe that a solution is in sight. The Minister will issue an official statement tomorrow," said Zainal Abidin.

BMC folk turn to MPs to fight Grand Saga

FRUSTRATED Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) residents handed a memorandum to Pakatan Rakyat MPs in Parliament for the ?road barricade? issue to be raised with Works Minister Datuk Mohd Zin Mohamed.

Bandar Mahkota Open Road Committee Secretary Tan Han Kuo said the residents are appealing to mohd zin to cofirm the public?s ringht to use the road linking the housing area and the Cheras ? Kajang Highway.

He said the highway concessionaire Grand Saga Sdn Bhd?s act of erecting barricades on an existing road junction had caused untoward incidents and unhappiness among the residents.

Grand Saga to rebuild barricade

GRAND SAGA Sdn. Bhd. The concessionaire of the Cheras-Kajang Higjway, will reconstruct a barricade at the access road in Bandar Mahkota Cheras.

Its executive director, Zainal Abidin Ali, said in a press statement that the barricade was necessary to protect its interest as well as to ensure the safety of highway users.

According to Zainal Abidin, the original barricade was built to prevent unlawful access to the Cheras-Kajang Highway.

It was illegally demolished on April 21.
