PUTRAJAYA: Kerajaan akan melaksanakan Pelan Induk Industri Pembinaan Negara (CIMP) bagi menambah daya saing sektor itu serta meningkatkan produktiviti, tahan lasak, dinamik dan bertaraf dunia, sekali gus menjana kekayaan negara, kata Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Najib berkata, pelan induk tujuh teras itu antara lain memberi penekanan kepada penggunaan teknologi termaju dan kaedah terkini mempertingkatkan kemampuan syarikat serta kemahiran pekerja supaya industri pembinaan negara mampu menyediakan penyelesaian bertaraf dunia.

IPOH: For more than 40 years, a concrete signpost erected by the Ipoh-Lahat trunk road served as a reminder for the people to forge unity through the use of the national language. 

The slab, with the words Utamakan-lah Bahasa Kebangsaan (Give prominence to the national language), was also reminiscent of the days when the national language was known simply as bahasa kebangsaan. 

Today, the signpost, erected by the Perak government immediately after independence, lies broken by the roadside near the junction to the Bukit Merah industrial and residential areas.

THE road restoration work along Jalan PJS 9/1 in Bandar Sunway has finally been completed, bringing an end to the daily suffering and woes of residents and business community in the Lagoon Perdana area.

Prior to the restoration, the road was filthy and had several potholes as it was the only access route for lorries transporting earth for land filling at nearby projects.

While cars entering this area were damaged, several accidents had also occurred, when motorcyclists were dislodged and fell when their vehicles hit the potholes that were covered with water. .

THE Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Highway may offer a swift and smooth drive to the city centre but road users in Seri Kembangan are annoyed because they cannot access the thoroughfare.

There are no entry and exit points between Seri Kembangan and the 26km-long expressway opened on Dec 13 last year. The expressway links with major roads and highways like the MRR1, MRR2, Besraya, NPE, KL-Seremban Highway and Kesas.

KUALA LUMPUR: Flash floods caused by clogged drains brought traffic to a crawl in Jalan Pahang while hailstorms hit several parts of the Klang Valley.

The downpour since afternoon forced the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) to be closed at 3pm for flood mitigation operations.

"SMART calls on motorists to be patient. Current information will be given to the media from time to time," the operators said in a statement.

The water level started rising at about 2pm near Bulatan Pahang after the downpour.

The hamlet on a cluster of seven hills straddling the Pahang-Selangor border is in imminent danger of dying out.

BUTTERWORTH 27 Mac - Rakyat Pulau Pinang mahu kerajaan negeri yang dikuasai DAP supaya menghapuskan segera bayaran tol di Jambatan Pulau Pinang dan Plaza Tol Sungai Nyior di sini seperti yang dijanjikan oleh parti itu pada Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-12.

Rata-rata penduduk yang ditemui nyata tertunggu-tunggu dan menaruh harapan tinggi agar janji kerajaan negeri untuk memansuhkan kutipan tol di kedua-dua laluan berbayar itu dapat ditunaikan secepat mungkin.

KUALA LUMPUR 27 Mac - Pengguna jalan raya perlu sedar fungsi utama Terowong Pengurusan Air Banjir dan Jalan Raya (SMART) adalah untuk mengawal kejadian banjir kilat dan bukan laluan trafik.

Menteri Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar, Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas berkata, penutupan terowong pada Sabtu lalu adalah prosedur biasa dalam mengawal banjir kilat di ibu negara.

Beliau berkata, penutupan itu dilakukan bagi membolehkan penyaluran air ke kolam-kolam takungan untuk mengelak banjir.

KAJANG- Majlis Perbandaran Kajang (MPKj) akan mengadakan mesyuarat dengan pihak Grand Saga Sdn. Bhd dan Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) minggu depan untuk membincang dan mencari jalan penyelesaian mengenai isu  pembukaan jalan di Bandar Mahkota Cheras.

Yang Dipertuannya, Datuk Hasan Nawawi Abdul Rahman berkata, MPKj telah pun berbincang dengan kedua-dua pihak berkenaan baru-baru ini, dan perbincangan yang lebih mendalam akan diadakan dalam pertemuan ini.
