The Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia was set up by an Act of Parliament, i.e. Registration of Quantity Surveyors Act 1967, Act 487 (revised 1992). The Board consists of a President, a Registrar and sixteen (16) members appointed by the Minister of Works, Malaysia.

The Board's functions are as follows,

To regulate, develop and facilitate the construction industry by inculcating professionalism in delivering quality, productive and sustainable built environment.

To be an esteemed organization that delivers construction excellence in Malaysia.

We will be the center of excellence for infrastructure development by using creativity and human capital innovation and cutting edge technology.

We are committed to providing and maintaining infrastructure and public facilities to fulfill the requirement of national development.
