IPOH: Effective 5pm tomorrow, motorists traveling from here or the north to Kuala Lumpur can collect their transit tickets at the new south-bound Ipoh Selatan toll plaza.

Plus Expressways Bhd chief operating officer Nik Arina Nik Jaffar said the new toll plaza, located about 200m north of the existing one, was built to ensure a safer and more convenient journey along the Ipoh Selatan-Jelapang stretch.

"South-bound highway users will be diverted at the 276.2 kilometer of the North-South Expressway to a local road," she said in statement.

"They will then collect their transit tickets at the new Ipoh Selatan plaza and precede South-words south-way at the 281.2rd kilometer," she added.

The toll plaza has nine lanes, including two SmartTAG and two Touch 'n Go lanes, one Touch 'n Go reload lane and two reserved lanes.

However, north-bound users will still stop at the existing Ipoh Selatan toll plaza for payment, said Nik Arina.
