KOTA BARU: The road diversions at Km55 and Km65 linking Gua Musang ti Kuala Krai are expected to be completed by tomorrow.
Repair works are going full swing to link Gua Musang to the rest of Kelantan after the road there sank following heavy rain last week.
The earlier alternative route between Gua Musang and Jeli also sank at Km45.
The incident stranded thousands of motorists returning to Kuala Lumpur after the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
A state Public Works Department spokesman said work on road diversions at Km55 and Km65 were being carried out 24 hours a day to ensure they would be ready by tomorrow.
"Work on the road diversions started on Saturday by two separate companies so that they could be completed quickly. Vehicles were barred to ensure smooth progress."
The spokesman said repairs on the Gua Musang-Jeli road would be made later.
"We are also carrying out road repairs on the Gua musang-Kuala Berang stretch to provide an alternative to those travelling between the districts of Kota Baru and Gua Musang."
