Visi

To provide accurate, professional and efficient legal service to the Ministry Of Works and to all departments or agencies within the responsibility of the Ministry Of Works and always acting in accordance to the Federal Constitution and the law.

Mission
  • Committed to provide quality legal advice and services in accordance with the Federal Constitution and the law, emphasizing on the Government policy and the public interest.
  • To handle all civil actions which is brought by or against the Government of Malaysia and other subject matter which is given responsibility upon us with efficiency, accuracy and in accordance with the Federal Constitution and the law. 
Objective

To provide quality, accurate and professional legal services in accordance with the Federal Constitution and other laws of the country.

Activities and Functions
  • To provide legal advisce in writing or oral on laws within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Works and others laws in relation to the problems submitted.
  • To draft, vet and approve the drafts of agreement, Memorandum of Understanding and other legal documents.
  • To draft and vet principal legislations and the subsidiary legislations concerning matters under the jurisdiction of MOW, PWD, MHA, CIDB, Board of Architect, Board of Engineers and Quantity Surveyors Board and the agencies thereunder.
  • To handle all civil cases which is taken by or against the Government.
Client Charter
  • To commence or initiate legal action on behalf of the Government of Malaysia to claim damages against contractors / quarters residents /canteen tenants / computer borrowers and transportation within time limit under the Limitation Act 1953.

  • To provide advice and opinion submitted within 2 weeks from the date it was received or any other period which had been agreed by the clients, provided the documents are completed / facts are submitted.

  • To vet and draft contract / agreement / memorandum of understanding and other legal documentations within 3 weeks from the date it was received or any other period which had been agreed by the clients,provided teh documents are completed / facts are submitted.

  • To vet and draft main laws which are relevant to the Ministry Of Works (either new Act or amendments) tobe submitted to the  Attorney General's Chambers for approval within 2 months or any other period agreed by the clients provided issues of policy have been resolved by the Ministry Of Works or other related agencies.

  • To vet and draft subsidiary legislation (regulations /rules /orders /notices /notifications) within 2 weeks from the date it was received or any other period agreed by the clients provided all the documents / facts are submitted.
