MOTORISTS in Petaling Jaya are happy and thankful that the authorities have abolished the RM1.60 toll at the PJS 2 toll plaza near Taman Medan with immediate effect.

Consequently, motorists who have been paying RM3.20 in toll to use the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) to Kuala Lumpur and back daily will now need to pay only RM1.60 on their journey back to Subang Jaya, thus saving RM1.60 a day.

What is even more gratifying is that following the abolition, more motorists will now feel encouraged to use the NPE more frequently. Currently the NPE is under utilised.

This welcome move is sure to considerably reduce the volume of traffic on the Federal Highway that invariably contributes to the massive traffic jams on the highway.

Many Subang Jaya motorists have been using the Federal Highway to avoid paying RM3.20 in toll daily on the NPE.
