IPOH: Two more sinkholes have appeared within 12 hours of each other in Kampung Manjoi.
The first sinkhole, measuring 4m wide and 2m deep, "swallowed" a villager, when it suddenly appeared at Jalan Baginda at 6.30pm on Sunday.
The villager known only as Jawa and a group of friends were chatting in front of a workshop parking lot, when he sank into the soft ground up to his knees.
"No one was hurt and we quickly moved our cars away from there," said Jawa's friend Mizi Ismail yesterday.
"Jawa climbed out and we watched as the hole got bigger and bigger until it reached 4m in width." Curious cavity: Two Kampung Manjoi residents taking a look at the sinkhole at Jalan Baginda on Monday.
Just 6m away, another sinkhole appeared under the tarred road of Jalan Baginda yesterday morning.

"Luckily, we didn?t run into it," he added.
Perak Health, Science, Technology and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Tan Chin Meng said preliminary findings showed that there was no immediate danger to residents.
"There is no need for residents to evacuate from the affected areas as yet," he said.
