Resurfacing works is underway along the Old Papar - Kota Kinabalu Road from Papar to Kinarut, which is approximately 20km.

The public using this stretch of road are strongly advised to take heed of all roads signs and adhere to all traffic management efforts, to avoid any untoward incidents,

These works, considered to be the biggest resurfacing project in 20 years will improve the bad road conditions and shows the Government's sincerity to bring about positive change to the infrastructure of  Sabah. 

Although the distances between the work sites are scattered, road maintenance personnel will conduct traffic flow management so as not cause traffic congestion, Vehicles plying the route are requested to be patient and observe these traffic instructions.

Once the resurfacing works has been completed, the road is expected to attract more light vehicles and ease the traffic situation on the new Papar-Kota Kinabalu road.
