Missing link will cost RM2 | Kementerian Kerja Raya Skip to main content

Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Duke) is said to help reduce traffic congestion by 30 per cent in Kuala Lumpur by dispersing traffic to the outskirts of the city via feeder roads like Jalan Kuching, Jalan Sentul, Jalan Semarak, Jalan Setiawangsa, Jalan 37/56 and Jalan Bandar Dalam.

Konsortium Lebuhraya Utara-Timur (KL) Sdn Bhd (Kesturi), the concessionaire of the expressway, was awarded the contract in 2004 for a period of 34 years.

Early this month Kesturi managing director Datuk Haris Hussein said that despite having capacity to handle 120,000 vehicles daily, only 50,000 are expected to use the highway in the first year, paying toll of RM2 from Feb 8.

The expressway was constructed to provide the "missing link" between New Klang Valley Expressway, Karak Expressway and Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2. This expressway is also known as the Kuala Lumpur Northeast Dispersal Link Scheme.
