Ministry Of Works had won Project Management Quality Award of 2008 for Projek Pembinaan Pusat Pentadbiran Kerajaan Persekutuan - Fasa 1 di Bandar Muadzam Shah, Kota Setar, Kedah at Public Sector Quality Award 2008 Giving Ceremony which was held on 27th November 2008 at Putrajaya International Conventional Centre (PICC). This award was presented by Prime Minister, Y.A.B Dato' Seri Abdullah Hj. Ahmad Badawi to Secretary General of MOW, Y. Bhg. Dato' Sri Dr. Abdul Munit Bin Kasmin. Other candidates for this award were Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP), Lembaga Pemasaran Pertanian Persekutuan (FAMA), Lembaga KemajuanvWilayah Pulau Pinang (PERDA) and Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ). Project Management Quality Award is a recognition and appreciation given to an organization for excellent achievement in project management which could be a benchmark to other agencies to increase quality of their delivery system. This award was introduced in 2008. With this victory, MOW received cash money worth RM 15,000.00, a trophy and appreciation cert.

In summary, Public Sector Quality Award is divided into two levels. At upper level, recognitions are given to agencies for excellent achievement in overall organization management. There are four awards in this level, as stated below:

1. Prime Minister's Quality Award ;

2. Chief Secretary of Malaysia's Quality Award ;

3. Public Service Director General?s Quality Award

4. MAMPU Director General's Quality Award

At lower level, recognitions are given to agencies for excellent achievement in certain field. Awards in this level are:

1. Information Technology and Communication Quality Award ;

2. Finance Management Quality Award ;

3. District Administration and Land Quality Award ;

4. Local Authority Award ;

5.Public Service Innovation Award ;

6. Kumpulan Meningkat Mutu Kerja (KMK) Award

7. Project Management Quality Award
