To facilitate maintenance and monitoring exercise federal buildings are listed based under North Zone and Sabah, South Zone and Sarawak, Central Zone and East Zone. The number of buildings under each zone is as stated below.

The Government takes proactive steps to improve the condition of the buildings to enable the occupants and the people to really enjoy the infrastructural facilities provided. These efforts are made in stages based on the need and affordability.
